Leh is known for its stunning scenic locales, Buddhist temples, and pristine environment. The most attractive sights are the Hall of fame a museum constructed as well as maintained by the Indian Army in the memory of the soldiers who had lost their lives during the Indo-Pak wars. Kali Mata Mandir is a beautiful place that gives a great view of the Leh garrison. Gurudwara Pathar Sahib was constructed in memory and honour of Guru Nanak. Magnetic Hill is famous for its gravity-defying occurrence. Leh Palace known as Lachen Palkar Palace is a former royal palace overlooking the town of Leh. Tse-mo-gompa is most renowned for its three-story high solid gold statue of Maitreya Buddha. Shanti stupa is a magnificent white-domed Buddhist monument located atop a steep hilltop.

Day 02: Leh – Sham valley (170 Kms | 5-6 hrs approx)

After breakfast, drive to Lamayuru and on the way, visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Sangam (confluence of Zanskar & Indus river) and Liker Monastery. Lunch en route, post lunch drive to visit the mesmerising moon like landscapes and the Lamayuru monastery Overnight stay in Sham.

After Breakfast, Proceed to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (The 2nd highest Motorable road in the world, 18,380 ft). You can take short breaks at roadside cafes and scenic points for photography, known as the gateway to the Nubra and Shyok valleys in Ladakh. Adventure bikers from all parts of our country and across the world visit this mountain and pass on their motorcycles for an adventure-soaked experience. On reaching Hunder, check in to the hotel/camp. Post lunch, enjoy a camel safari (double-humped camels that are found only in Ladakh & Mongolia) at the Sand Dunes between Deskit & Hunder Village. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

Nubra Valley Known as Ldumra (the valley of flowers) is situated in the north of Leh. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 ft. above sea level. The main attraction in this area is the Bactrian Camels (Shaggy double hump Camel) around sand dunes, Deskit, and Samstanling monasteries. Its inhabited areas form a tri-armed valley cut by the Nubra and Shyok rivers. Its Tibetan name Dumra means a "valley of flowers".

After breakfast, drive to Turtuk, One of the most fascinating journeys in Ladakh is a less popular destination that recently opened for tourists, if you have a thirst for a beautiful location this is the place. This village was recaptured by the Indian Army in the Indo-Pak war of 1971, en route you can visit Tyakshi (it is the border that divides India and Pakistan) spectacular mountain ranges, and Villages, a full-day rough excursion, and evening back to Nubra Valley.

The 108 feet tall statue of Maitreya Buddha is located just below the Diskit monastery, at an altitude of 10,308 feet, 15 kilometers northwest off the Khalsar-Panakil route, right at the edge of the desert in the Nubra Valley.
While the Diskit Monastery is a major tourist place to visit in Nubra Valley in itself, you cannot miss out on the Maitreya Buddha statue.
