The Elephant Falls are a two-tier waterfall in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. The Elephant Falls located just outside the Shillong city at a distance of approx 10 kms provides a unique sight wherein the water column carves out its way and surrenders to gravity at two successive locations. Dramatic, multi-tiered waterfalls in picturesque surrounds, with an easy walking trail and stairs.

The Shillong peak stands at a whopping 2000mtr above sea level. The peak dedicated to the city is also the highest point in the state. Apart from the natural beauty, Shillong also acts as the gateway to Meghalaya, the state famous for heavy rainfall, caves, tallest waterfalls, beautiful landscapes, and amazing people and their culture. Shillong is also fast emerging as an education hub for the entire northeastern region.

At the top of the hill in Cherrapunjee village, the museum in the Ramakrishna Mission (a Hindu spiritual movement with origins in West Bengal) has an interesting collection of Northeastern tribal artifacts from fish traps to fur hats, plus dioramas of tribal life, and a room with further artifacts, models and info focusing on Meghalaya's Garo, Jaintia and Khasi tribes.

Mawsmai cave is one of the main tourist attractions in the Cherrapunji. which is credited as the wettest place on Earth. These magnificent caves are formed out of limestone and are quite long and deep. Narrow, rugged limestone cave with a dimly-lit access point, low overhangs & often uneven footing.

Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Its height is 340 meters. It is one of the wettest places on Earth. The name of the falls in Khasi language meaning "Jump of Ka Likai" is linked to a legend about a local woman Likai who jumped off the cliff next to the falls.

Proceed to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place in the world. There are lots of spectacular viewpoints on the way to Cherrapunjee like, Elephant falls, Shillong Peak. The Cherrapunjee is a land of wonderful waterfalls and beautiful valleys. Some of the Main Attractions are the Ramakrishna Mission Museum, First Presbyterian Church, Mawsmai Fall, Nohkalikai Falls, Eco Park, etc. Mawsmai caves near Cherrapunjee are an experience in itself, the limestone caves are well lit up. But if you want to thrill yourself more, climb up to the caves hitch are not lit up, they are guaranteed to spook you as one has to crawl their way in.

Kaziranga village is famous for Kaziranga National Park, a world heritage site is famous for the Great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, the landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes & shallow pools. Ganges River dolphins swim in the park’s waters. It’s visited by many rare migratory birds, and gray pelicans roost near Kaziranga village.

Umananda Devaloi is a Shiva temple located at the Umananda Island in the middle of river Brahmaputra just opposite the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup or the Kachari Ghat in Guwahati. It is known as the smallest inhabited riverine island in the world.

Balaji temple is a beautiful temple of Guwahati located in the Lokhra area. It is a replica of the famous Tirupati Venkateshwara temple of Southern India. Hindu temple known for its South Indian–style architecture, imposing stone idols & parklike grounds.

The Kamakhya Temple is a Hindu temple at Nilachal hills in Guwahati. Dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya, it is one of the oldest and most revered centers of Tantric practices. Kamakhya temple was built to honor the mother goddess, the bleeding Goddess of Assam. Along with the legend of Sati. The Kamakhya temple is actually unique in the way that Kamakhya (representing Shakti or the Feminine Power) is known as the bleeding Goddess.

Navagraha temples are temples devoted to Navagraha—the nine major celestial bodies of Hindu astronomy. These temples are made of stones. These celestial bodies are named Surya, Chandra, Mangala, Budha, Brihaspati, Shukra, Shani, Rahu, and Ketu. Many temples in South India contain a shrine dedicated to the Navagrahas.

This ashram is believed to be the home of famous sage Basistha, also known as "Vasishtha". The ashram is located a few kilometers (10-12) from Guwahati, on the outskirts of Garbhanga reserve forest which has an ample population of elephants. This Garbhanga reserve forest is also a proposed butterfly reserve. Although the ashram has a temple but still the cave in which the Muni Vasistha is believed to have meditated is located 5 km inside the ashram. The ashram also has a waterfall.

Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra commonly Kalakshetra is a cultural institution in the Panjabari area of Guwahati. The institution is in the name of a famous playwright and poet of the medieval period called Srimanta Sankaradev.

Tawang is situated 448 km northwest of state capital Itanagar at an elevation of approximately 3,048 meters. It is famous for its 400-year-old monastery. This monastery is one of the biggest Buddhist monasteries to be found in India and is an important pilgrim center for the followers of Buddhism. Apart from its religious importance, Tawang is famous for its natural beauty, which attracts and enchants the traveler.
