The thing that makes this place interesting is the colours of the rivers. Zanskar river is fluorescent blue in colour and Indus looks a little green. They both meet in Nimmu valley.
Magnetic Hill, the place where gravity takes a backseat. Lying at a distance of around 30 km from Leh. The layout of the area and surrounding slopes create the optical illusion of a hill. The hill road is actually a downhill road. Objects and cars on the hill road may appear to roll uphill in defiance of gravity when they are, in fact, rolling downhill.
A peaceful place that was built by the Lamas to honour Guru Nanak Dev, founder of Sikh faith. He visited this place in 1517. It is 25km from Leh on Kargil road. The boulder with the imprint of the body of Guru Nanak Dev and the footprint of the demon is on display in Gurdwara Pathar Sahib.
The temple is the site of one of the Great holy Shakti Peethas. One can reach easily the temple by ropeway. It's near Leh airport. These are 11th-century structures and hold a rich cultural value in the tourism of Ladakh. Spituk monastery is a beautiful place that gives a great view of the Leh garrison. Spituk Monastery, also known as Spituk Gompa or Pethup Gompa, is a Buddhist monastery.
The Hall of Fame, located near the Leh Airfield, is a museum constructed as well as maintained by the Indian Army in the memory of the soldiers who had lost their lives during the Indo-Pak wars. It is also termed as a memorial for the war heroes. Run by the Indian Army, this museum/war memorial houses weapons, history exhibits & a souvenir shop.
Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist white-domed Stupa on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district, Ladakh, in north India. It was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura. The Shanti Stupa holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama.
Leh Palace was built by King Sengge Namgyal during the 1500s and completed by the 17th century. Its facade resembles that of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Leh Palace's roof offers amazing views of the Ladakh region and the Stok Kangri. It has a rich collection of Jewellery, Ornaments, Ceremonial Crowns.
Proceed to Nubra Valley via Khardungla. Khardung La Pass is located at a height of 5,359 meters and is the highest motorable pass in India. The distance will be 125km and it will take us 5-6 hours to Nubra valley. Famously known as the gateway to the Nubra and Shyok valleys in Ladakh. Adventure bikers from all parts of our country and across the world visit this mountain and pass on their motorcycles for an adventure-soaked experience.
Khardung La or Khardung Pass is a mountain pass in the Leh. The pass is on the Ladakh Range, north of Leh, and connects the Indus river valley and the Shyok river valley. It also forms the gateway to the Nubra valley, beyond which lies the Siachen Glacier. Famously known as the gateway to the Nubra and Shyok Valleys in the Ladakh.
Nubra Valley Known as Ldumra (the valley of flowers) is situated in the north of Leh. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 ft. above sea level. The main attraction in this area is the Bactrian Camels (Shaggy double hump Camel) around sand dunes, Deskit, and Samstanling monasteries. Its inhabited areas form a tri-armed valley cut by the Nubra and Shyok rivers. Its Tibetan name Dumra means a "valley of flowers".
A different kind of experience is a white desert in the lap of mountains. Cold winds with snow-covered mountains must visit and a night stay in Nubra valley. which is situated about 10 km from Diskit village. The 108 feet tall statue of Maitreya Buddha is located just below the Diskit monastery, at an altitude of 10,308 feet, 15 kilometers northwest off the Khalsar-Panakil route, right at the edge of the desert in the Nubra Valley. While the Diskit Monastery is a major tourist place to visit in Nubra Valley in itself, you cannot miss out on the Maitreya Buddha statue.

The Shyok River a tributary of the Indus River that flows through northern Ladakh and enters Gilgit–Baltistan, spanning some 550 km. The Shyok River originates at the Rimo Glacier, one of the tongues of Siachen Glacier.
Pangong Tso is popular for its changing colour ability. Its colour changes from shades of blue to green to red. It is one of the highest altitude lakes in the world that is filled with saline water. It is located at an altitude of 4350 m above sea level.

Chang La is a high mountain pass in Ladakh at an elevation of 5,391.3024 m or 17,688.000 ft in the Ladakh Range between Leh and the Shyok River valley. The Chang La, on Leh to Pangong Lake road, lies on the Leh-Karu-Sakti-Zingral-Chang La-Durbuk-Tangtse-Pagong Lake motorable road.
The Shey Monastery or Gompa and the Shey Palace complex are structures located on a hillock in Shey, 15 kilometres to the south of Leh in Ladakh, northern India on the Leh-Manali road. Shey was the summer capital of Ladakh in the past. It contains a huge Shakyamuni Buddha statue.
Sindhu Ghat comes on the way from Manali entering to Leh. It is close to the Shey Palace and on the way to the Thiksey Monastery from Leh. There is a beautiful place also called Sindhu Darshan Point (translated as the Indus View Point). A light walk at this place will add more charm. It introduces us to the old grandness of the Indus River. It is a spot to spend some quiet moments and a must visit attraction on any visit to Leh.
